Plasti Dipped my GT Wheels

Debated for a while on what color I wanted, black or anthracite grey from dipyourcar.com. I decided to go with the black since I could pick it up from Home Depot and if I didn't like it I could just order the anthracite. I like how it came out but I'm still on the fence about the anthracite. I may ride this out for a bit and when I get tired of it switch to the grey. This is 5 coats of black and 2 coats of clear. I took the wheels off and used the index card trick to keep it off the tires. Was getting dark when I took the pics but I'll try and get some in the sun today if it stays sunny long enough. I plan to do the window trim next but I think the black wheels blends well with the dark tinted windows.

Good job on the wheels, but (don't take offense) when you shine the stock wheels (Touring) against our Soul Red they look amazing. I'm just not a fan of black wheels on Soul Red cars. Flat red or cherry red look ok. I'm looking to make my wheels lighter, more of a 3D gray.

Sold: 1994 Hunter Green Mustang V6 (first car)

Sold: 2004 Cherry Red Mazda6 Sport

Current: 2016 Soul Red Mazda6 Touring

Finished: Debadged rear end

Wants: Evil 'M' front and rear, LED fog lights and headlights, Lowering springs (stupid curb/driveway)

Definitely more.......

Na definitely no offense taken. Different strokes for different folks. I have never been a huge fan of black rims and like I said, I'm still debating on these. I agree that the original finish nice and shined up is amazing, I just got tired of looking like every other Red 6 on the road.

I can't believe I'm saying this (since I like the chrome that's on my car) but perhaps you should consider doing a chrome delete.
Around the Windows, trunk and chrome on front end. That would really differentiate your car from other red 6 on the road

I will agree with you there. When I bought by 6 a year ago, you might see 3-4 6's a week. Now it's 3-4 a day. Like I said, looking at lighter rim colors, but now that I see that link you posted for plasti-dip, I'm thinking of going the gold route. In the sun, our cars have a golden hue to them that I've always loved. something along the lines of the 3 below.

Edit: I'd also change all the chrome to the same plasti-dip gold as well. Either way, I'm doing a chrome delete. Tired of staring at it.

Yep, chrome delete is next. Hopefully sometime this week I can get around to it all. I think that will pull it all together. I don't hate the chrome but I think it'll complete the look. @BlueNylonShoes funny enough, I was just walking away from my car (of course walking backwards staring at it like we all do lol) and had the thought of maybe going gold. I like the way that 3 looks. The only issue is most everything Ive read about gold plastidip is that the color never comes out how you expect. May have to play with color/finish combinations to get it to pop like that 3.
