About to roll my fenders...anything to look for?

Howdy,

I'm going to roll my rear fenders this weekend. I noticed that there is some kind of felt-ish fabric liner there. It seems like an extreme roll will sandwich that fabric in between two layers of metal. Is this an issue? I had intended to get the most roll I could while I was doing it, but I don't want to make it so the liner isn't removable if, for some reason, it needs to be. ( idk, to get to screws or something...?) Anyone out there who's done this and can offer advice?

Also, is there anything else to look for? I've researched the forums quite a bit, Youtube too, but suggestions are always welcome.

TIA,

Jim

I rolled mine again last weekend. It seems the liner is also glued or stapled on, since it would not come off after removing all the fasteners.

I would recommend spraying some 'rust paint' or rubberized coating in there when you're done.
