Talking My RX8 wheels are done!

I picked up a set of RX8 wheels in October and finally had the money and time to get them done. I thought this process would be easy: Just pick the wheels up, take tires off, get the wheels powder, put on news tires...tada! Nope, I got so much more (work) than I bargained for.

Here's the break down of how much these cost me:
RX8 wheels (craigslist)....$250
Sanding/Powder Coat....$280
Nexen N5000 tires....$430
Sanding Materials....$30
Gas (driving to pickup wheels, drop off for powder, etc.)....$70
Wheel dismount/mount....$105
Total........................$1165

Also, My time driving, sanding, waiting at tire shops....PRICELESS!

Overall, this was my first time buying used wheels and getting them powdered. I'm 100% happy with the overall look and feel, but if I had to do it all again...I wouldn't. I'd just buy new wheels and tires.

Here's a few pics of one wheel on the 6. It's dirty right now and the weather out here is being a bitch, so I'll post more pics later. Let me know what you guys/gals think:

Where'd you get the tires from?

I got them from ebay. East Coast Tire Company was the name of the dealer. Very high ratings

you coulda gotten something better but those rx8's are pretty sweet.

07 6i tungsten grey metallic: clear side markers (purple LEDs), magnaflow catback, full Polk audio sound system, OZ superleggeras (gunmetal), 6000k HID's, badgeless grill, stickerbombed wink mirror, rain guards, red calipers

something funny

Is that a hyper silver finish you went with?

Reminds me of the Shinka edition RX-8's.

Ha, that's exactly the look I was going for. I thought Black Chrome at first, but when I saw it in person it was not the look I was going for. Then the guy showed me his brightest chrome and that's what I got!

The pics don't do the wheels justice at all. The sunlight bounces off these wheels just perfect giving off the hypersilver look. I'll take pics with my Nikon instead of the camera phone in a few days. The wheels look great against my Dark Gray.
