Just asking (please !!!)......................

Is there any aftermarket 18" wheel that has correct/acceptable offset that has been popular with some conservative (aka old men) owners ?????

I am still interested in buying RX-8 wheels.

1) Do "most" MAZDA6 owners run them with the OEM silver paint ??? I would like to powder coat to a more brillant silver(ie Infinity,Lexus, etc), but dont know what color is called to tell powder coating company.

2) I'm thinking 225 x 45 x 18 will give the best ride (versus my current Michelin Pilot Sport 215 x 50 x 17's)

3) Will the above combo absolutely fit my 2006i (5 door) which I seldom load down.
At what load/weight levels will I encounter problems ??

4) I still need to find RX-8 wheels in my area, repair curbing, pay for shipping ............just too much $$$ ???????
[I have not tried the RX8 club forum ???]

NEED to add info or signature............but I live in metro Seattle area (Renton)

Thanks, Chuck
1- I run them with the silver OEM finish. Makes it look like it came with the car stock lol I think I'm gonna PC mine but haven't had the funds nor time to do so.

2- 225/45/18's give a pretty good ride. Depends on what tires you get. Tight bow I'm running 220/45/18 and it rides good. Tire is smaller though so I'm not tucking as much as I was.

3- it should fit. Definitely if you're not lowered, but it depends on what tire your gonna use and how low you're planning on going.

4- check craigslist everyday. I food mine for an awesome price.

Good luck!

Just picked these up

I just found this set yesterday on RX8Club forum. Don't give up if it's what you want. $350 with some balding tires and TPMS sensors in them still. I figure I can probably sell the sensors to recoup some costs. And burn through the rest of this rubber.

This is just a mockup on my 6:

they shouldnt be that much money....ive seen them for $250. they are 50 buck rims a piece.

07 6i tungsten grey metallic: clear side markers (purple LEDs), magnaflow catback, full Polk audio sound system, OZ superleggeras (gunmetal), 6000k HID's, badgeless grill, stickerbombed wink mirror, rain guards, red calipers

something funny

A lot of people were selling them for $400 without tires or tpms. And I saw others jumping on those private sales. I should have kept looking but I did need new tires ASAP. I found this set and had them in my possession within 5 hours. Definitely more of an impulse buy then anything I guess. Thanks for the info though, next time I'll be more thorough with my search.

1) Anyway have experience driving the TOYO Proxies4Plus
225x45-18 tires with the RX8 rims.......

2) Looking for specific info or suggestions as to what to coat/paint
the RX8 wheels on my Glacier Silver 2006 6i.

WHAT was that special edition RX8 with a more brilliant OEM
wheel. It seems that wheels do not have paint codes
so how do you order paint to replicate these "looks"

Go to a powder coater and have them match the color for you
