It was $300 for all 4. It was a bit more expensive due to Black Chrome needing a clear coat. That also included "bead" blasting the rim clean.

Thanks everyone. I really need to update my signature so you can see the whole car in daylight instead of my garage. Just waiting for some really good weather.

I sold her for a 2013 Dodge Challenger. I'll be back if a MazdaSpeed6 version comes back!

With an extreme sport tire on 18in wheels, 225-40R18 with stiff walls, yes it can be really hard on your butt. With 225 width, you can get a tire a little bit too small (40 profile) or a little bit to big (45 profile). Last 3 summers I had a set of R-S2 on my RX8 wheels, 225-40R18, so the smaller option. Very fun to drive but a bit too hard when it's time to travel familly, tire walls were very stiff. This time I choose the 45 profile to gain a bit of confort AND better look. With the profile 40, tire/wheel were looking a bit small for te car and void the look of the suspenssion drop because of the wider gap btw the tire and the fender. I'll pick my new tires next week (Potenza RE760, 225-45R18), I'll tell you later about improvements...

I have not been able to find 18" RX-8 wheels locally.

As I need new tires sooner than later, I'm about to bail out on the 18" Idea.
(My OEM Michelins have 65K on them)

I don't have time to search through the many many past threads and asking if someone knowledgable would please answer my questions. Yes I'm an ole man
who wants a little better/different look on his other wise stock 6i.

1) I plan to stay with my 17" OEM MAZDA (alloy). I am tired of the factory silver
paint. How might a super silver or "hyper silver" Powder Coated wheel look.
My intial inquires suggest that powder coating a wheel might be less $$ than
painting ?????

2) I want the "look" of a larger tire than the 215 x 50 x 17". Will the 225 x 50 x 17" be acceptable
and change the stock appearance ????? (I'm planning on ordering the CONTINENTAL Extreme
Contact DWS.........from TireRack or ????)

Thanks, Chuck

RX-8 Wheels are everywhere! Some will sell them 'shipped' for a decent price.
The RX-8 Rim is a really cool looking wheel (I had 'em on my 6), but because
of the good looks, and easy cleaning, a lot of 6 owners go with them.
I agree with Flipper. If you're gonna drop that kinda money, find a good looking
aftermarket rim, and find a unique look. To anyone buying used rims,
be sure to have them turned at a tire shop to make sure they're not
warped/bent.

To the OP: Looking good! Thanks for NOT powder coating them Black! Eew.

Guys, Please forgive me as I'm inexperienced (and have trust issues) and dont need to make a costly mistake.

I am still interested in buying RX-8 wheels.

1) Do "most" MAZDA6 owners run them with the OEM silver paint ??? I would like to powder coat to a more brillant silver(ie Infinity,Lexus, etc), but dont know what color is called to tell powder coating company.

2) I'm thinking 225 x 45 x 18 will give the best ride (versus my current Michelin Pilot Sport 215 x 50 x 17's)

3) Will the above combo absolutely fit my 2006i (5 door) which I seldom load down.
At what load/weight levels will I encounter problems ??

4) I still need to find RX-8 wheels in my area, repair curbing, pay for shipping ............just too much $$$ ???????
[I have not tried the RX8 club forum ???]

NEED to add info or signature............but I live in metro Seattle area (Renton)

Thanks, Chuck

the rx8's also came in chrome, and black chrome. there not all silver. and i think most keep the OEM finish. as long as its in good shape.

+1
When I actually get around to it this summer, going to give mine either a matte black or slate grey (kind of the color I've been sporting since I slapped mine on) P/C'n, since it's rather hard to maintain painted wheels year around here in the Midwest.
