Newbie Here..............

I would like to do this 18" OEM look to my 2006 6I (Glacier Silver)

Thinking about buying those Continental highly rated DWS Extreme Contact tires ???

My question is how much harsher would my ride be on 18" rather than the original 215 x 50 x 17".

My goal is to come up with a "reasonably" priced look to make my MAZDA stand out from the pack........

Thanks for the education

To me the ride feels a little stiffer on the 18's. However, my wheels have a softer side wall than the OEM tires. Meaning that my ride feels pretty damn smooth. I feel a little more weight than the OEM 17's, but the ride is perfect.

I used to have 18" chrome wheels that weighed a lot more than the RX8 wheels. The tires on those were Yokohama ES100's with a much stronger wall. The stronger wall made the ride rougher and the wheel weight was definitely felt. I personally think you'll be alright with OEM 18's and tires.

Hope that helps you out bro.

Need to find "deal" on RX-8 wheels. If damaged (curbed) will have them repaired and powder coated (at what cost ???)

Anyway, IF I can ever pull this off, I'll post pictures.

Has there been enough of this wheel powder coating being done for YOU to have opinon. I really like the hyper silver look from say a newer LEXUS ???

Also curious why Ive seen no LEXUS, INFINTY or other brand 114.3mm wheels used on out MAZDA 6's ??????????????

Thanks for the education

ive seen OEM lexus IS300 wheels fitted up, and someone tried a set of 350Z wheels. so people have tried them. u just havent seen them. lol. but the vast majority of wheels out there arent a good fit for the 6 cause of our pretty odd wheel offset.

well said. plus, there are very few cool OEM wheels out there...... and those that are cool, are just as expensive as running aftermarket wheels.

G/Z wheels fit for sure

OEM mustang GT and mach1 rims will fit (eww)

Several locals are running around on Evo X wheels and a few are running 8s & 9s

that said, 98% of the people are running rx8 wheels because they are stupid easy to fit without thinking.

yup. and the offset is even better then the stock 6 wheels. plus there pretty cheap for an 18 inch wheel. there quality reflects that price though. lol. but i am gonna run them this year once i get some tires for mine. will be a nice change from the MS3's.
