It just reminds me of people that buy Mazda's and put Atenza on the rear. Or Lexus IS300's that say Alteza.

Or people that put Buick badges on their Mazdas...not naming any names or anything.

Buick's are "Gran Sport's."

I thought everybody knew that.

I got proff:
see below for "true" Kosei center cap:
http://www.seffects.com/parts/KOSEIS5RCAP.htm
Just a tad expensive ... but ... I may consider doing this ... for real
see how the center spin area is the same???
Kosei = Kosei
I think that I have approached this in an "RC Cola" mannor - but - hey - I will get some pics as soon as I can and YOU can be the judge...

Here are some Kosei D5's that look a lot like yours.

$683.00US.

Might be able to find a cap there.

My car with this wheel

I think it's a very stylish wheel, cheap, lighter than stock. I'm happy with it.

Whatever. You get my point. That Grand Sport badge on your car didn't come from Mazda. In fact, now that I'm really looking at it, I guess that's a Corvette badge. So, I guess you've got a 4-door Corvette, there? Kettle, Pot is on the phone, he says you're black.

I'm just jacking with you, dude!

Of course, I've got an Atenza badge, so I get a little defensive about it. Since the Sport Edition wheels are private label wheels made by Kosei, I guess a more appropriate analogy would be someone who takes the labels off the private label beer made by Budweiser and puts Budweiser labels on the bottles so everyone doesn't think he bought the cheap stuff. Having an Atenza badge, imo, is more of an homage to what the car is called in the home market, not trying to make it look like an upscale version of what it is.

No offense taken.

I was only pointing out that some wheel manufacturers make different level wheels for their customers.

After looking at the "real"(?) Kosei wheel for almost $700.00 per set, I think a knock-off(different brand) is a steal. Looks the same doesn't it.

On a side note, what is a good quiet tire for the wife's IS300? The Dunlop's were okay, the current Kuhmo's suck! The Kuhmo's are terrible in the rain. Almost scary.

Most of your private label wheels are made by recognized manufacturers. But without the name on them, they sell for less. I remember I had a 1988 Mazda 323 GTX and when I was rotating the tires, looked on the back of the factory alloy wheel and it said ENKEI on the back. I thought, "Cool, I've got Enkeis!."

Don't want to thread hijack, send me a pm about your wife's IS (year, model, etc).
