I put on 2 Firestone Firehawks on front after right front developed a serious leak. Still have two OE Michelin's on back. Looking to replace them with 2 more Firehawks in the spring/summer. So far very pleased with the Firehawks, not cheap though, lol

Thumbs up From Hankook K106 to Toyo Proxes 4

Just went through a set of Hankook k106 from Les Schwab in less than 20k miles. They were good tires plenty of grip, but probably a little more harsh of a ride than most would want to put up with. Tracking was very tight and steering response was spot on. Snow, forget about it, Rain was great no hydroplaning at all even in the NW torrential storms at high speed.
What did I replace them with? Well after trying the "Schwab special" (federal 427 or something) and took them back after 10 miles due to sloppy handling (boating all over on the freeway... the thought of an emergency maneuver scared the hell out of me while going 65...), and then ponied up for the Proxes 4.
Wow. What a difference. They have better if not the same tight handling characteristics as the Hankooks, but somehow don't slam on manhole covers or potholes like the Hankooks would. They are buttery smooth, responsive, predicable, and quiet. Haven't had any rain under them yet, but so far well worth the 165.00 mounted at the Schwab Tire sale.

Have anyone tried the Sumitomo HTR Z lll tires on their 6? The reviews look good on Tirerack, and was thinking of getting these to replace the crappy OEM Michs. Live in FL, so no snow, and keeping stock size. I'm surprised the Michs actually lasted 6 years on my car.

2nd year on BFGoodrich SuperSport T/A and couldn't be happier. Excellent tire, especially in rain. Even handle light snow without issue, which can save swapping the Blizzaks off & on.

I'm getting stock size, but would appreciate any feedback before I buy them from Tirerack.

Just replaced the stock michilin tires (59,000 miles) with the Primacy MXV4 from Michilin. Opted for a better spreed grade, etc, mainly because the consumer ratings were high:

Cost me a Grand total to get put on, including the front end alignment but I think they roll great

I'll keep you posted, but FWIW any review I give you before the end of the season would be rather short-sighted (you can't adequately review a tire in 300 miles). So far they're better than my aging Falken FK452, but my alignment was out of whack and chewed up my tires pretty badly.
