Beautiful ride. I spent 4 hours last weekend washing, polishing and sealing the car only for it to rain that night before the sealant had time to fully cure. Guess i'll have to spend few more hours washing and applying the sealant once the weather/pollen clears up. I usually apply 2 layers of sealant every year, and then do maintenance rinseless wash + spray wax throughout the year to keep the car clean.

I must have said this a 1000 times already, but every time i fully detail my car, i curse the mazda engineers who thought it was a good idea to apply a super thin coat of paint on such a beautiful body. No amount of wax can make the color pop and whats worse, i am hesitant to use even the most gentle compound and pad fearing it will tear up the paint. A reading of 78 microns on hood is atrocious to say the least ! A well known detailing shop in my state said the new mazdas have the thinnest paint they have ever seen. And they fully apprise their customers before attempting any paint correction on mazdas.

Btw, how did you relocate the license plate ? i've been intending to do something similar with my car. It looks very cool and fully exposes the best feature of its front - i.e. the grille.

Agreed that the paint is aggravatingly thin. The hood is the worst....

And I did relocate the plate. I couldn't bring myself to drill into The bumper. I went with the rho-plate tow hook mount. Not cheap, but it is adjustable and is holding up very well. http://rhoplate.com/product-mazda.html

Yeah, just detailed mine. Clay, P21S paint prep and carnauba wax. Honestly, although the paint is thin I find it more durable than my previous Mazdas. Whatever chips there are are pin pricks, rather than the larger flakes that came off my previous "Ford" Mazdas. The bumper is the worst area for chips. Hood is ok after two years.
