Unless a car is in huge demand you should be able to buy just about any vehicle for about $5,000 below MSRP on the sticker.
This is not including taxes, title and reg fees......it's not "Out the Door" but the cash price of the vehicle. Add about 10% to the price you negotiate and that about covers taxes title, registration fees and all.

If you're buying a new last years model you should be able to negotiate more off the MSRP.
The Challenger SXT PLUS in my avatar was a NEW 2016 I bought this past April.
MSRP on the sticker was $30,080.......I paid $23,000 for it.

That's more true of Dodges and Fords than other brands, and depends on what rebates are currently being offered. I've gotten roughly 20% off my Dodge Durango and several Fords. But I walked away from a Mazda6 deal last month where they wouldn't go more than $3,600 off sticker. Got real lucky and found one online randomly discounted $5,900 on one regional dealer's website, but that was luck, not the norm.

It also depends what kind of day they are having or month.
If they haven't sold a car all day or very few they will deal more.
If they're having a bad month and are a few cars away from their quota they will give DEEP discount on the last few cars on the last day of the month to make their quota.

The DODGE dealer I used to work at got a $80,000 bonus from Chrysler if they made their quota at the end of the month. So if they were a few cars short they would sell them for 7 or$ 8,000 BELOW MSRP to make their numbers.

I got my best deal on a new car, a Altima on the last day of the month!

BTW....$3,600 off MSRP isn't a horrible deal, if I really wanted the car I would have taken it.

Bought a 6 through Tustin Mazda. I used truecar, which connected me with a few dealers and really helped me in the process.

Mazda 6 Touring Bose Package and Sunroof. Financing with School's First FCU.

23,500 out the door after taxes/title/fees. Original sticker MSRP was 27,000.
Payments over 60 months will be 390.00

I did get Mazda Loyalty Incentive as I have a CX-7 for the lady and the kid, the nonturbo sport model, I think this is a pretty good price on a decently optioned 6. The 2018 6 comes out with a a new HCCI engine, which I don't think will be quite as solid as the current 2.5L skyactiv. We will see what the future brings. I love this car and will baby it for the long haul.
