Since there is no MazdaSpeed6

What to buy?

Looking at a highly modded WRX, still not a grand tourer though.

Next closets is a (blah!) A4 . . . .

Ideas?

If your shop can't do anything more than a kit, don't tell me to buy a Mazdaspeed6, asshat.

While I'm not a nissan fan myself how about infiniti? G or even older M - friend has a RWD w/v8 and has an old porsche or two, loves his infiniti. Smaller - how about new GTI or GLI if you prefer trunk vs. hatch. I know you have manual like I do so if that's a requirement then the pickins are really slim.

09 mazda6 iGT manual, spoiler - no mods

Wouldn't be a bad choice. I love my M45!

I'd recommend an older Legacy Spec. B.

I should probably give my criteria:
I always liked the gen 2/3 because it's a refined family-friendly vehicle. That, and, I live where it snows.

Inifinity: loving their new vehicles, very nice (no AWD/Manual Transmission)
Spec B: It's an older car . . . honestly, if I had to choose, I'd get an actual MazdaSpeed6

"Highly modded WRX" just sounds like a bad buy, especially around here. Seems like every WRX that's been modified at all, has usually been beat on.

Audi's not bad, those S4's are pretty awesome. Can't really think of much else that meets your criteria (AWD and boosted) off the top of my head.

Yeah, that criteria is slicing it pretty thin. A WRX is by no means a refined family vehicle. If you want AWD/turbo/manual, you're looking Golf R, S4, Spec. B/LGT/OBXT, or MS6

I should have clarified about the WRX. I'm looking at a NEW WRX and having to adult-ify it:
Swap out to all-season tires
Swap the trunk lid for no wing
Chip it to get better fuel economy

My dream car is the currentt-gen Mazda6, with 230+hp/Torque in a manual with AWD.

Price is definitely a good question; I could technically afford a 5-series, but can't see throwing the money away, since I put 20k+ miles a year on a vehicle, so I'm trying to stay around $30k, which doesn't buy you a lot these days.

Honestly, I'd buy the new Mazda6 if I could get a GT with a manual . . .

I'm leery of the sportier audis because my dad had an A6 s-line that was killer on the back on cement highways, but a friend tells me that suspension is electronically selectable now, so I'll have to have another look.

The other side of the coin is I have a car that's paid off, mostly what I like, and in decent enough shape at 123k miles.

I guess I was so enamored with my car when I bought it I thought there was NO WAY they wouldn't bring the speed6 back . . . and got my head wrapped around that.

Hold out for the MS3 2015!

No Audis for me - too much money, too expensive to fix/maintain.

Check out the G35's or new Q70' Infiniti's - Always loved those cars and they're AWD. The Q70's are the brand new sedans and I like them a lot.
