Owner of a 2018 6 Signature!

Hi guys - just joined this forum as I got my 2018 signature mazda 6 in soul crystal red. Great car so far but had a few possible concerns.

Wanted to get some insights from other owners - how has your experience been with the brake feel (feels a bit softer than comparable cars like the Accord).

I also feel a bit of a vibration at idle coming through the car and when the AC is on. Is that something you guys have experienced in your 6?

Not sure I've ever had two cars brake pedal feel the same. After a few 100 miles you will be used to it and it will feel normal. Shouldn't be compared to a Honda.

Have not noticed any vibration at idle, with or without the AC on. May I suggest you run a tank of Premium, "Top Tier" gas through it and see if it makes a difference. If you're still running the gas the dealer filled it up with you can be assured it's crap.

I also have an '18 Signature and have noticed the car transmits a fair bit amount of vibration into the cabin. It does this with or without AC on for me.

Thanks - I will see if the vibration continues with premium once I go with my first fill up. The dealer most likely did put in regular.

Do you use premium gas or regular?

I've run 93 (or ethanol-free 91) from Day One, and I've never noticed any type of vibration at idle.

Having said that, I'd be VERY surprised if the vibration was from regular-grade fuel, since they're tuned to run on both regular and premium...

I use 91 octane fuel as that's the most we can get where I live.

Ahh I see - what does your car idle at in drive without AC? Mine does it at around 600 rpm which I think seems a bit low without AC. In park it is at 750 rpm.

yeah I am curious to see if it makes a difference on mine. The idle rpm seem a bit low as well at around 600-650 rpm in drive with no AC.

I recently leased an '18 Signature and agree with your experience with the brake feel. The latest Honda's, both Accord and Civics, I've driven have a very linear and direct feel. I love their brake feel. The Mazda6's brakes are similar to the Camry's...kinda soft...one of the few weaknesses with this car. I also experience the driveline vibration at idle whether the AC is on or not. Still on some of the dealers gas. I topped it off with 93 when I got down to 1/2 tank. Averaging 33 mpg after 2 long mostly highway trips. I am also noticing a steering wheel vibration if I apply the brakes quickly at 65mph or higher. It almost feels like the rotors are slightly warped but the car has less than 500 miles. No steering wheel vibration at lower speeds. My biggest pet peeve is you can't adjust the sound settings when in CarPlay.

I still love this car. It's beauty, comfort and driving dynamics covers a multitude of smaller sins.
