Talking New 2016 Mazda6 Touring Owner

But not new to Mazda! Started my Mazda journey in 2007 with a 3 Hatchback (not a Mazdaspeed, unfortunately) which got totaled in 2015, then leased a 2015 CX-9 and just turned that in last week, leading to my now Mazda6 Touring in Deep Crystal Blue.

I'm having so much fun in it.

I very much am! I still test drive different cars when I need to get a new one (except this time, I'd already driven a 2016 6 as a rental so I knew exactly what it was like), and I travel a fair amount for work so I get to experience other cars too. Nothing so far has compared to Mazda for me.

I even got to drive a 2018 3 GT the other day because I had to take the 6 back to the dealer for some work and they gave it to me as a courtesy vehicle. Oh boy that was a fun day.

Ever since Mazda got their $**T together, I've been in love with the brand. I still believe they were the one that got the rest of the car companies to follow suit.

The fact that you can get all of these features back when the 2014 model came out was amazing. I remember cross-shopping other brands and none had all of the options without going out of budget or move up to the luxury brand and pay a premium.

Mazda was always a niche market car; really fun to drive and you got some good creature comforts if you went Touring and GT trims, but they did give up some on the comfort side relative to other cars in the respective class. They appeared to be going into more of the premium material and comfort areas with the redesign of the 6 in 2012 and continuing slowly until 2015 when Mazda completely cut ties with Ford (bought back all of their stock). Since 2015 they've had redesigns on every one of their models, including interior comfort, and it's starting to show. I saw a review the other day that compared the CX-5 to the Lexus NX 350 and it came in favorable in every aspect except pure luxury drive (road noise, absolute comfort, etc.) where it was still considered close...and for $8,000 less.
