Question Mazda 6 EGR harness replacement

Hi. I'm a newbie here so please be patient lol. I bought a new EGR harness for my 2004 Mazda 6 3.0L station wagon because my original plug was ruined so I had to buy a new one. The issue is that the aftermarket harness came with all of the cables as black only and I honestly don't know how to connect the aftermarket harness and pair it with my original cables because the ones in my car have colors and I do not know which one is which. Does anyone have an actual picture of the original EGR harness or maybe a wiring diagram that can help me? Thanks in advance!

"Assuming" you have the original damaged unit you could always note the wire color location pin.
Match your new pigtail harness to same location and tape each one with that color written on it.
Use a continuity tester also if your'e unsure.

Hello, welcome to the forum. You could just repin the harness one wire at a time. This would avoid the chance for a mixup. In case you can't, here is the EGR wiring diagram from my 2004 Workshop Wiring Manual

Thank you guys for replying. What I meant to say is that my original EGR harness still have all cables/pins but no plug. The cables are loose with no plug because the plug got ruined which is why I had to buy a new one. This new harness I bought, have all 6 pins but all black. I need to pair them with the original ones from my car just like how you would do with a radio harness. The issue is that since my original plug got ruined i needed a picture of the original egr harness or a wiring diagram to see the exact location and/or color of each pin

@DrFeelGood 's photo above has color reference in them. Perhaps that will help sort it out. We might be able to get you a photo of one from one of our cars so you can compare the orientation of the colors in the plug.

I think I understand. I included a wiring diagram in an earlier post but the EGR plug wiring pinout is a little fuzzy so I will add it here again. The plug is viewed face on.

R/G = Red with Green stripe
W = White
P = Pink
Y = Yellow
GY = Grey

C ▬▬ D = The wires at C and D can be interchanged freely. (The white wires can be in either spot since they both go to the relay/evap pump.)

I was hoping you had this image @DrFeelGood . Thanks for posting it.
Janice Flores you might be able to just unpin the plastic part from your existing replacement harness clip and install the wires in your car into it to avoid having to splice wires while hanging over the engine bay. However, if the connectors were damaged with the plastic part, you'll likely need to cut and splice. Let us know how it goes.
