Lightbulb New person, new problems :D

Hello everyone,

I'm really happy to join this forum. However, i came here with one question.
Recently we bought a Mazda 6, 2011, 2.2 Diesel. Everything seems perfect, only few details that we can fix by our self's. However, I just noticed (don't know if it was already, or just started. A little light is always on, when lights are on (no matter which ones, auto, long distant, short distant, etc). As I researched, it is called Ambient light or down light.
I found a manual online, in which states: ''An ambient light continuously turn on when the ignition is switched ON. An ambient light dim when the parking lights or headlights are turned on.''
When the ignition is on but any headlights are off, it is off. However, when I turn on the headlights (as mentioned any type) it stays on, and does not dim. Always bright.

I don't know if someone had this ''issue'' or anyone knows why, but i still hoping for some help. I would love to upload few pictures, but to my understanding, while new, i can't do that.

P.S. Sorry if there's any bad English.

Cheers!

Newbie, who you can call Victor

Welcome to the forum, Victor!

Your English was perfectly fine. Could you please tell us where the ambient light is located? It sounds like it is functioning exactly how it should. There are a handful of components which will turn on with the ignition and stay on, or others that depend on if your headlights are turned on - this is normal.
