Hello 6ers. New to me 2014 6 owner. I commute 130 miles a day and used a beater corolla. That broke down on me and was in serious trouble to get to work. I had to find something fast (as in not much time, not speed) and needed at least 32 mpg and wanted japaneese reliability due to the distance i drive. Most everything i came across in my price range was an econo box chick anti-magnet. In my research i stumbled across the much overlooked Mazda brand. I was previously just looking at toyota and honda. I am a mechanic and feel these cars are way underestimated. I found a pristine off lease higher mileage one i could afford and couldnt be happier. The 3rd gen 6 handles like a dream and has surprising power for a 4. Oh and the mpg is perfect for my needs. I look forward to being a member of this forum and hope my mechanic skills prove to be a helpful addition to this great forum. I worked as an automotive machinist and transmission mechanic when i was younger. Getting older now so got into the computer network biz.

Regards.

Welcome to the forum!

Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the world of Zoom - Zoom. There's nothing even close to as fun to drive as a Mazda in its segment, and that's why we all love our cars so much.

I've had my 3rd gen for just about 6 years and have put over 140k miles on it and still love it as much as the day I purchased it. Commute about 100 miles daily for work and it's been nothing but a blast.

Welcome! When I think of "reliable commuter" I too instantly think Toyota, Honda (although less so than I used to) and of course, Mazda. Mazda has the benefit of being MUCH better looking, more affordable used since the public STILL doesn't really know about them, and are just more fun to drive.

Manual transmissions, wagons, and heavy metal are awesome. Zoom-Zoom \m/

This got my attention! Are you saying that right now you get to "magnet" the Chicks? It doesn't happen to me!

The first time I brought this 6 in our office, everyone was looking at it kept on saying that I got a very, very, very nice car!
