Install Nav 2015 Mazda6 i Sport Sedan?

Howdy! I (literally) just impulsively purchased a 2015 Mazda6 i Sport (standard soul red color). It has the screen and the button for Nav, but i was told Nav was not in this vehicle. When one presses the button, nothing happens.

Would I just need the SD card to install or the entire system (wires, antenna etc)?

Thanks in advance!

Just the card. Plug it in and you're good to go.

That’s 1/2 right.

2015 models need the card reader + the card.

Thank you. I’d the card reader difficult to install? I’m fairly “car-fluent”. I’d say...on a basic conversational level as far as fluency goes lol. I refuse to pay the extra money for the dealer to add it in. It would have added an extra $2.5k to the vehicle when I figured I could do it myself.

From my understanding the reader plugs into a spot in the “coin” holder space next to the wheel below the buttons.

I did this to two of my Mazda 6’s. After you drive 60 miles, put it in your laptop and you get free map updates for three years.

Can you confirm that I'll need the card reader as well as the SD card then? I'd hate to buy both and realize I only need one, or buy one and realize I need the other.

Also, can anyone suggest a good site/place to purchase parts from? I'd like to change out the upper and lower deck grilles to mesh, but have a hard time finding what I'm looking for from reputable places.

Check your car for the reader. It’s located in the little coin compartment to the left of the steering wheel below the buttons but above the hood/gas latches.
