Remember to wet sand with 2000 grit after and finish it off with some polish & wax. Make those puppies shine!

I don't recommend clear coating.niteshade
If you ever decide to remove the niteshade you won't be able to due to the clear coat
I nite shaded a few sets if tails already and only clear coated my first one, sure it's extra protection however it becomes irreversible!
I've had un cleared nite shaded tails on for at least 1.5 years and no fading or rubbing off so far!

I used the Krylon Triple Thick Crystal Clear Glaze (two coats) on my side markers after blacking them out back in 2009, and they're still looking great.

hmmm, if you have such luck after such a long time, i might just not clearcoat mine. How long does it take before it starts fading usually?

It all depends on how much sun exposure and what not
My car is only in the sun when I drive so mine should hold up for a while
And if it does fade after a few years, clean off the old niteshade and re do it or just buff it back to shine!

i cleared my taillights when i used nightshade and i use a 2k clear i forget the brand but since its an activated can (pop on the bottom to mix) the can only has a pot life of 24 hrs at best. so bsaically you want a few things to paint or a bunch of layers so you use up a lot of the product or your can will harden up and then you have to throw it away.
