I just ordered a pair of D2S bulbs for the low-beam headlight. The left one on the car is not illuminating so I'm going to change the bulb first. I seriously hope that the ballast isn't at fault, though. Thanks to this site for giving me the part number.

My car originally came with the non sport bumper and lower fog lamps that were operated by the factory turn indicator stalk switch.
I wanted to run the integrated fog lamps as a daytime running light so I did not have to illuminate all the marker lamps, and, have it operate with the ignition and a switch so it could be disabled.
Using a switch out of a 2003 Mazda Protoge5 I wired it through the firewall to a relay in the engine bay.

I then installed a set of OEM fog lamps that I rescued from a salvage yard.

In order to match my HID (and draw less current) I changed the H1 halogen to an LED bulb but quickly found out that it was nowhere near bright enough.
So I took the fog lamps out and removed the cutoff plates.
You can see the end result below.

The end result looks factory and adds the extra visibility that is needed when living in a rainy grey climate. All done without significant cost. The combination of fog reflector lens, angle, and reduced lumen output means that night time glare is about the same as other vehicles on the road.

One final change that I may make is to use a combination split switch

So I can also run a corresponding rear fog/spray lamp in the drivers side reverse bulb spot to help when the rains get heavy. I only need to source the connector for this but may just use individual connectors.

Thanks for reading.
Very nice!! I'm going the opposite and was looking into the Protoge switch for my lower fogs that I'm working on. Would you happen to have the wiring/pinout for the switch? I'll be going to the yard next weekend to grab one and some of the wiring harness for the switch as well as some other odds and ends. The wagon looks great!!!

Wow thank you so much!!! This will help in the near future!! All I have left to do is seal up the fog projectors and figure out how to mount them in the aftermarket lower fog bezels. I already have a wiring harness down there for the current fogs that I'm replacing but always wanted to have a factory looking switch for them. This way the integrated fogs stay switched with the headlights and the lowers would be separate.

While they are not on the car yet, I just got done sealing these modified Ford Fusion fog lights for the lower front bumper. I need to let the sealant cure and then I can move on to getting them on the car.

Just a few months back I bought a 2014 Touring. I threw a set of new wheels and tires on it (the old ones were badly curbed). If I can find the link to the ones I bought, I'll post them here. Last Monday I installed a Megan Racing front strut tower bar (I wanted to paint it first, but I knew I wasn't going to have time for that anytime soon).

Saturday evening I installed new tail lights (these to be exact). They're not exactly my style, but they look pretty decent and they don't leak like the OEM ones did.

Those look awesome! Be advised about the laws in your state. Here on the west coast it is illegal for any vehicle to have a forward facing red light. That is reserved for law enforcement.

Today I gave my 2004 wagon an angry voice when I had my almost free ($40 wrecker pick) Magnaflow catback exhaust installed. I opted to do a resonator delete on the installation and think it sounds nice & growly...

Fully loaded 2004 Mazda 6 GS Wagon

Added:
- GT Rear Spoiler
- 08 Front Seats
- Lotek gauge pod & GlowShift gauges
- Magnaflow catback exhaust (resonator delete)

- And a bunch of other really cool stuff that will all be revealed in the spring.

Thanks!! And yes, it's the same here unless parked or for show. The red lights will never be on while on the roads. Only during cruise ins, shows, parties, etc. I should be fine (I hope)
