She REALLY wants to go!

Ok...my car is at 680 miles now...and I think I've really broken it in, and broken it in nicely. I don't know if it's complete or not.

When I first got the car, I noticed in first gear it was a bit slow to rev up. However now, after 2.5k, it reved up to 6k with absolutely noooo problem! Man it was so much fun to finally open her up!!! i was like :D while driving her. Of course once I got to 6.5K I was around 30 mph or so.

Peeps who knows how to drive a stick, at that point I can shift directly into 3rd right? I'm not sure...

In any case, I'll probably still keep the rev low up until 1K mile (up to 6K RPM every now and then), change oil (dino still, synethic later), then really let her rip to test her limit. Reminds me why I bought this car. :)

Hmmm... mines at 4000KMs... It still seems slow... :(

I was on a mountain highway the other day (Sea-to-Sky in Vancouver, if anyone cares). I found the car really... lethargic, even in 3rd gear at high RPM. The car isn't all that peppy. I have a V6 MT. Anyone else care to comment?

so how high up does that go? altitude KILLS power... thinner air, less O2 to burn.

i have 450 miles on my '04 and it LOVES to rev...

Haha, yeah unfortunately that's the case if you go up high in the mountains. But how high were you going?

Well now that my car loves to rev, I'm afraid my already low MPG (at 23 currently, and that's about 90% highway), will just continue to drop. Oh well, I sure as hell didn't buy this car because of it's gas mileage :)

I'm at 700 miles and I also have noticed that this car is much quicker now. It is a blast to drive around town and the engine will only feel better as it breaks in. I can't wait to take this baby to the track and see what kind of times I run. Waiting for some more miles and an intake to really feel the power. I can't wait to really push her to the limit and see what she can do. I'm so impatient!!

Just a fair warning Toadster, you shouldn't be pushing your car too much with only 450 miles on the clock. At least wait until 600 if not more.

Just in case you didn't know.

And if you need more power in higher altitudes, turbocharge your car!

Turn off TCS, AC, radio, and lights...then close all the windows.

Thats pretty much the max performance you'll get.
