Thanks btp, i'll take a look. I wonder why the Mazda manual says the key can be programmed for a single touch open using the procedure i mentioned earlier !?

Could that possibly apply to non-GT trim levels? I thought all trims had the full Mazda connect/system settings access but maybe the sport has to do it manually. That procedure sounds similar to how I did it on previous cars.

The settings menu should allow you to adjust how the doors unlock, how they lock/unlock when the car is started/parked, timing of lights, etc....

Thanks guys, yes, i was able to change the setting using the center console. The locking/unlocking section of my users manual does not mention about changing the settings using touchscreen at all ! With just 3 trim levels, i wish Mazda had a trim specific users manual .

Guys, has anybody here ever bought the so called extended warranty from 'Fidelity Warranty Services' while purchasing a new car ? Since this was my first time buying a brand new car, i fell for the finance person's marketing ploy and ended up with a platinum 7 yr/100k warranty from Fidelity for a whooping $3450. A day later when i finally brought the car home, i did some research online on the extended warranty and was horrified by the stories i read. I drove back to the dealership the very next day and asked the now-not-so-friendly finance lady to cancel the warranty and i signed the cancellation form.

Fast forward 4 weeks, i just called Fidelity to make sure they've received the cancellation paperwork from the dealer, and as suspected, they haven't received it yet and my warranty is still active. I have called the dealership again and left her a voicemail inquiring about the cancellation status.

Has anybody here have any experience with these dealer sold extended coverage and cancellations ? Why would the dealership not send in the cancellation ?

The dealership is probably making money on selling the extended warranties and is reluctant to back it off. The dealer might be trying to hold you at bay until you reach a "no refund period". Keep at them and if you ave to, tell them you'll get the BBB involved or seek other legal action. Reread your paperwork first though and understand the terms of cancellation.

$3,400 does seem excessive. Can you cancel directly through Fidelity?

Yep, my plan now is to call the dealership everyday until they send the paperwork to Fidelity. Fidelity did say i can send them the cancellation form myself but the refund check apparently goes to the dealership, and i think the dealership needs to send that money to the bank towards my loan. The way they've held on to the cancellation paperwork, i am fairly certain they will hold to the refund check as well. Reading on consumer forums on extended warranties this stonewalling by dealerships as well as Fidelity seems to be a norm, no wonder car dealers have such a bad reputation. What a mess !

Usually if an extended warranty is to be purchased, I would recommend one from the manufacture itself. Aftermarket is a big headache. I have, of all things had Chrysler extended warranties on our Durango and my Jag and never had one issue when it was used(only used on the Jag for a few issues and it paid for itself, and as far as the Durango its still under factory warranty, but they never questioned anything from the Jag dealership and just paid it, its now well past expiration) .

Just my .02 cents.

For those of you who got a Sirius XM with their M6, did you have to do anything to get all 150 stations with your 4 month complementary subscription ? My owners manual says i have 4 months of free Sirius XM, but when i tune to XM all i get is one station. Is there any setting that i should be aware of ? Thanks.

You need to register your radio unit number with Sirius. There should be instructions on one of the screens.

Actually, it may be channel 1.

Sent from the wrong side of the tracks.

Guys, anyone here ever tried "voice training" their infotainment system in a "type B" ( the ones in GT trim and probably the touring tech trim ) system? I tried following the user manual, but each time i press the talk button and say "voice training" nothing happens !

Also, how does one mute a phone call while connected to the car over bluetooth ? The manual says "press the talk button and say mute", i've tried several times while on a phone call and this does not work. What am i doing wrong ? Thanks.
