It is very likely that there is some strange US only government regulation that prevents Mazda from selling certain cars/models in the US. In Canada, we also have government regulations that makes some cars that you can get in the US inadmissible up here. I get completely pissed off that there has been a diesel version forever and we still don't get one.

2004 Mazda 6s 3.0 5dr. 5spd never ending money vacuum project:
CP-E headers w/catted mid + Magnaflow carback/AEM CAI/3.7L TB/Speed6 springs/RX-8 wheels
AWR 70D Enginemount/CP-E Dogbone/Custom urethane stock trans mount
Ralco shortshifter/Bose w/Auxmod/sharkfin antenna/lots of little things...

I was actually in talks with some guys about doing this for me for a $500 fee. PM me your email and I'll forward you my conversation with the guy.
So you did verify its against Mazdas franchise agreement to sell to Americans? I know it is for some OEMs, but Mazda want on the list.

I also know it's not citizenships buy rather living address. You can for example, be a US citizen residing in Toronto and therefore buy a car in Canada of any oem.

Well yeah I should have said resident instead of citizen. That's what they meant anyway. This was their response:

Donkey Grundle,

We thank you for your interest in Mazda Canada.

Authorized Mazda dealerships cannot sell a Mazda vehicle destined for the Canadian Market to a U.S. citizen and vice versa.
We appreciate your time and inquiry.

I was able to add the XM, heated seats and fog lights as installed at the dealer aftermarket. The warranty on the heated seats XM are lifetime. I would have liked factory installed XM and this is a workaround, but I was delighted to be able to get them. Ask your US dealer.
