US MazdaSpeed RWD 6-SR

I know I'm going to get blasted by everyone for making this topic. Just wanted to see how many ppl would hit this topic. It sure would been nice if Mazda would have came out with a RWD 6 instead of a FWD with NO LSD. IMO. A RWD with Ford's new Duratec 35 engine (thats going to be in the new Futura/Mustang GT/500/Montego/Freestyle/ etc etc would be good. Standard HIDs, 4 disc Bremo Brakes, 6-speed manual, paddle shifters for the auto lovers, Standard five spoke 18in wheels, tail lights without the bulge, Navi, a real chrome shifter that doesn't fade, 10 disc changer, 300 or more watt bose system.

I would say they should bring it on, sounds like a great car. I was wondering why the new 6 wasnt RWD myself, they said it was benchmarked to the 325 bmw. Cool topic.

Lots of companies say that. The TL, the Grand Prix, etc are all FWD and intended to be 325-killers.

And yes ATL, before I opened this thread I was either going to flame you or lock it... but meh, I may as well let it stand.

After the 2005 Ford 500/Freestyle models debut the new Duratec Engine supposed to come out a year later. Which sucks. IMO

No real word on horsepower, but not expecting any more then 275, because that's what the 350Z/ Maxima is pushing, and it runs premium. I doubt Ford will want to make that engine do that at first, but if SVT gets ahold of it....
I'm guessing Ford will probably make it a 250HP engine, and run it on regular. The only reason that Ford might not make it extremely fast at first is that the Mustang, their power car, only makes 260HP, and it'd be pitiful for a family 4 door to beat a Mustang stock! i guess that might be why Ford hasn't Turbo'd their SVT Focus, it'd probably beat the 'sang! The good news it that it looks like they're probably going to the "old" 5.0L spec, and probably throw 300+ HP at the Mustang in 2005, along with a sweet body change!
Just keep you fingers crossed that it'd be a realy really competitive engine, and show what American engeneering can do! Woo Woo!:P :D
