I like your idea re yellow (by way of a distinctive and offsetting colour)... but also you might consider the following: our cars generally have "under-achiever" brakes. The rotor diameter is pretty small (compared say to a typical German car... not that I have one) and we have (sliding) fist calipers (not fixed-caliper opposed 4- or 6-piston units). They 'kinda are made to look smaller with plus-sized wheels, too. So a person might figure the that they're not really an aspect of the car to show-case.
The upside... at least we have disc brakes at the rear ? .
This is just one perspective - and I respect all perspectives and efforts in customizing a car.
Nice looking car, BTW. By comparison I have stock 17's on my Sport. It cries out for a larger looking wheel....
The brakes on the 6 are fine by me with the driving that I do. I dont drive super aggressive and the 6 doesn't have that much power to warrant anymore stopping power tbh. I've never faded the brakes in the 40k miles I've driven it.
I was considering yellow on mine too. And our brakes are small so maybe look into a BBK. I know corksport makes one and there is a tread about another one...
This particular vehicle does not warrant me dropping that sort of money into. It would just be a aesthetic upgrade as I drive 5k a month, 90% of which are highway miles.
Plus, I doubt that these particular wheels would clear bigger brakes. Then I would have to invest another 1k in wheels and down the rabbit hole we go.
I was going to try to clean up the brakes, but with that process, I could invest another hr or 2 and make things more interesting [emoji16].

I'd almost go white. Looking at the 2nd pic where you can see your white stickers, that little bit of white started to make the chrome stand out a little to me. There was this new spray chrome paint that looked bad ass but I don't know the temp range for it or even know where to get it. I'll have to find the video of it. But if you could find that and it would work in high temp applications then the chrome :grin2:
Edit: I found it. https://alsacorp.com. They have some bad ass colored chrome too.
I really like read, FWIW. It ties in with the red taillights and just adds a touch of sportiness to me, I guess. Other bright colors tend to come off as a bit...ricey? To me anyhow.

I vote for gunmetal itself. Not off-setting, but protecting against rust (the distraction of seeing rust). I would also paint the rotor where the brake pucks do not rub over the surface.
If I go through the trouble, I kinda want people to know that I did some work.
With that being said, I will probably paint the puck as you suggested. But not getting the studs will be a PITA, but should be feasible to keep it to a minimal.
I'd almost suggest a dark silver.... just bright enough to show up but not so bright to upstage everything else. My plan is to just have mine zinc plated. If I was to do a color though ghb h, my idea would be to do them in the car's body color. I have silver rx8 wheels on my gen 1 and I think it would look pretty sharp.

There was a user on here with a first gen from a long time back who had a white car with the mazdaspeed 6 brake swap and he did his calipers in orange. Though I'm not recommending it, he also matched his lug nuts to the caliper color. It was a pretty slick look overall. I tried to find the pictures on here but I am having a bit of trouble digging them up.
How would you prep the metal for the Dupli-Color MetalCast can? Label says apply to chrome/shiny metal/metalcast base coat. I have the same dark gray paint on my '14, but stock 19" wheels and would love to see some pics or printshop views of the copper. Looks like it'd be very cool.
