Thanks for the great review. Has anyone with a 2017 or 2017.5 installed the Tanabe Medallion? I was shopping around for one a few weeks ago, and was told by a vendor that it was only spec'd to fit 2014 to 2016 models. So I went to my local Mazda dealership to verify the part numbers for the stock muffler to see if they were identical across the model years. Perplexingly, the parts guy indicated that the 2017 has a different muffler part number then the 2014 or 2015 models.

It's so weird - I didn't think they changed the muffler on the Gen 3 model years. I'm inclined to roll the dice and order one, and hope it'll fit my car 2017.5 without any issues.

I didn't think they changed the muffler for your model year either, but I wouldn't take a chance with an expensive axle-back like Tanabe. I would suggest asking Tanabe directly, or maybe find a 2014/2015 Mazda 6 for sale at a Mazda dealership somewhere and compare.

Thanks Zeffer for a good review write up. I also bought the Tanabe Medallion for my Mazda 6, and after having driven on it for ~8000 miles or so, I really love it. I noticed that during the first 100-200 miles, the exhaust was much louder and I could feel vibrations in the car more, but it quietened down afterwards.
