It's a great write up and neatly formatted. It's good info for everyone to know but is a little technical for a noob like me. I keep checking wikipedia and google for further definitions and info. Is there another thread that is dumbed down any more?[/b]

Advice?

Hey you seem pretty knowledgeable about the Mazda6. I need some advice. I just bought an 03 Mazda6S V6 6Cyl. 5Spd. and I wanna buy an intake but I don't know whether I should get a cold air or short ram. Which should I go with? And also, I want my car to have a nice deep rumble like a tuner and don't know if I can get that with just a muffler tip or if I have to get a whole exhaust system. Can you let me know what I should go with and where I can find it online?

Thanks,
Landon Schrecengost, IS1 (SW/ID) United States Navy

Fantastic writeup!
My only question involves your cars FI setup. Maybe it doesn't belong here...
I've been reading up a lot on FI in the mazda 6 and it seems like people are having problems getting their tune right. How long did it take you to get it right? It doesn't seem like there is huge aftermarket support for forced induction in these cars...

from your user name I assume you have a 6i. The car you are looking at here is V6, so the tuning is different. For you it is quite easy to go FI. Buy a speed6 exhaust manifold, turbo, and downpipe and you are ready to go. There are few tuning options out there for the 6i crowd, so search around. ( I think the haltech works with the 6i, so search that).
