Vent mode on hvac

Hey all, I've got an 08 (series 2 gen 1) 6i with the manual climate control. Air will only come out of the face vents and occasionally I get a clicking from the dash when I set it to other positions. Sounds to me like the motor that controls the vents is bad but I can't seem to find anything about replacing this part or even the part itself. Maybe I'm just calling it The wrong thing?

Sounds like a stripped cam on a blend door. I'm not intimately familiar with the architecture of the 2nd gen air box but I'd see if you can get some exploded diagrams of the hvac system and track down the parts that activate the diverter flap. That might help you find it on the car so you can catch it in action and hopefully diagnose the issue.

This is actually a first gen car. It has stopped making noise which makes me think it's the vent node actuator itself. Ac and heat adjustment is fully operational
