batery wire for the amp on my 2009 mazda 6

hi I have just joined and I am upgrading my stereo system but keeping the original head unit, does anyone know the best place to drill through the firewall or if there is a decent gormet I can use.
Also does anyone know what head unit I could get that won't afect the display or steering wheel controls

cheers carl

I don't know much about the 2nd gen mazda6 like you have cause i have a 1st gen, but in the 1st gen if you pop the hood and look behind the battery theres a big bundle of wires going through the firewall that would be fine fir a power wire. Idk if its the same for the 2nd gen but i doubt it had changed. Pop your hood and take a look

There's a grommet that's right by the driver's pedal box.
