MPG Reset

I know how to reset the MPG with the info button on steering wheel. But above or under the reset it says reset with trip A. I have that turned on. But I have not been able to get it to work and end up having to push the trip reset manually. Anyone else have this problem or is yours working? I'm referring to a 2014 Mazda 6 Grand Touring.

To reset your MPG readout on your dash, you must unplug the battery for a few seconds.. That will basically reset the entire vehicle.. I had reset twice and have used this method (not a pain at all) hope this helps.

I've had that problem as well. Its a very minor problem, but will let the service department know about it on my next visit.

You should be able to press and hold the center of the info button to reset the MPG and AVG MPH. The trip meter works in the same fashion, press and hold the trip meter stick and it should zero out. At least that's how it works with the sport. I know the GTs have a little different dash info setup so maybe they work differently. Hope you can get it figured out, having to reset by disconnecting the battery sounds like a lot of hassle.

Thanks buddy. I was looking for an answer for a while. I'll try that out.

I second SuperSquirrel - on my GT I usually press and hold TripA to reset everything becauseI have it setup that way. However if I am making a trip and just want to reset the AVG MPG I will click the dead center of the Info button on the wheel and reset just that meter. Works great!

I thought there were *two* AVG MPG readings available, but when I re-set by pressing the center of the Info button, AVG MPG for both Trip A and Trip B get re-set...

This is on a 2014 GT

There is a pin on top of your dash display area. You can twist it to adjust the brightness of display lights. Push it in and your can reset your separate trips.

There is an Average MPG, and a Real Time MPG. Completely different readings.
