Greetings fellow 6 heads. I have an 03 6 S with 158,000 wonderful miles. Just recently, It beagn NOT starting (cranks but doesn't start) on cool/cold (around 50 F) mornings. Later in the warmer afternoon, it starts and runs just fine. Anyone know if there is a temperature relay/circuit or something else? Help needed ASAP. BTW, the dealer is little to no help on this one. Thanks

BTW, if this isn't the correct place to post this question, please advise.

Thats hella miles on the car!

Uhm...What color?

Check the entire electrical system. When was your last tune up? Coils, starter, fuel pump even? Throttle body could also be a possiblity. When was the last time your fuel filter was looked at/changed?

None of which will be affected by outside temp with that low of a swing starting from such a warm temp. If it was cold enough, the coils may have an issue, but not at 50 degrees. The fuel pump is sitting in a pool of fluid that is certainly at ambient temp in the morning, but likely not warmed to ambient temp later in the day, unless it's parked in the sun. The throttle body sensor gives a voltage reading based-on sweep. Unless it's cold enough that the battery isn't giving full voltage, it's not the problem. And I don't even begin to understand the fuel filter issue. Especially since (his) car doesn't have one that can be serviced.

I'd wonder about your air inlet temp sensor, or possibly the coolant temp sensor. One or the other is likely out of range and either not giving a signal the ECU understands at lower temps.

If your car had them, I'd say possibly cap & rotor since dew point/relative humidity is highest first thing in the morning. Slight chance of the plugs, but again not likely. A change from say 50 degrees to 70 degrees isn't much, especially to something under the hood in a short period of time.
