That procedure is correct to a point. You can program a key that way if the feature has been unlocked in the pcm. What i mean by this is,you have to request the dealership unlock that feature for it to work in 2005 and older models.I tried it before and had to plug my car in and play with it for about 15minutes to unlock the feature.[/b]
Well im unsure of this i did this once i found the instructions did it once and it worked perfectly.. didnt have to unlock anything (pcm) i have a 2005 6i..

I did it last week again with another key...and it worked perfectly..

It wouldnt cost you nothing to give it a try im pretty sure it'll work, and im willing to bet on it...

lets say $5 anyone in...?

Lol paypal would be fine anyone else...

Actually no i didnt buy my car new, but this is something that im pretty sure is for consumer use.. The dealer is really only required if the consumer only has one key, but if he/she has 2 keys already programmed it should work..

I say buy the key, try our instructions and lets us know..

If anything ull need the key anyways..

Ive got $5 that itll work ..lol

It is a feature that is done at the factory. Some dealerships turn it off as part of their pre-delivery inspection.Further research into it is that the dealer I work for does not since they sell vehicles directly to the local Hertz rental car company. So it may or may not work on your car,you can always try and if it doesn't then you still had to buy a key anyway.

Where do you want me to send your proof so that i may collect the $5???????

LOL j/k

Okay, got all 3 keys in hand! Went down stairs to try Shane23's programming method......

Who's got bets on this?

Cause it worked!

All 3 keys start the car now! (2004 mazda6s)

Heading back to alarm shop to have one of the keys reinstalled into the auto start module.

Thanks guyz, especially Shane23. Saved me a lot of money!
