here is a link attached that should show a comparison between color and output.
check your local laws as to what output is legal limit and they should give it to you in candlepower.
Lumens=Candlepower X 12.57

legal limit in kansas is 300 candlepower or 3771 lumens.

Somehow the H3s don't seem to show the blue their supposed to in your pic of the Spark PIAA 8000K ; maybe they match better in real life than what the pic shows , djquik1 ... although they seem to match pretty good in your night shots here

Between the D2S & the H1 bulbs ; is their a difference in the K color on the the scale rating if both are say 8000K ? Are you getting major blue sky + have you bent the inners of your Bosch prj. to get some additional blue ? Wonder how much blue on the road since the scale mentions sky blue as opposed to white/hint of blue for the 5000K ?

I really don't have a camera that would give a great representation of the color match.
I did not mod the cutoff shield for more color,it is just way too much of a hassle to take the headlights apart that many times to get it right.If you a have a couple of free days,it would ok to try,I just don't have that much time.
there is no difference in K color between the H1 and D2S bulb from apexcone.they are the same filament just a different base.
It is very blue at night going down the road,I am definately a big fan of this mod.I could have gone with a 5000k and gotten more light output,but these are very bright.I highly recommend doing a projector swap,I have seen a hid kit in the stock projectors and the beam isn't as clean and focused.

Now on the subject of a new battery,the stock one is just fine,The hids actually draw less current than the halogen setup once the ballasts heat the bulb up.

Now one major thing,Get the wiring harness with the relay for the hid's.......It is great insurance for your wires,the stock wiring harness could burn up at it is around $2000 for just the harness.

Just had the new lights put in, and I am very happy with them. However, I HATE the way the 194s look with them. What 194 bulbs would be the closest match to the HID? Thanks.

Go with the supenova 194 led's in white from autolumination.com
You will have to notch the heatsink to get them in the housing though.
