Here are my observations...

I would prefer the smoked housing for my Black Cherry... it just blends better.

Now, off to the pics:

1. I don't know if it's the position of the pic but the first shows alittle bit of separation in the upper portion of the LED in the outer brakes.
Yes it is because of the position.

The first row of led lights starting from the outer, shows consistency all around the oval but the second starts to show separation, then the third shows consistency again. The inner brake housing shows consistency all around the oval led layout.3. I understand by the prior posts that the superflux leds are bigger but it just doesn't look right. Everything else seems to flow flawless.
You can compare it to the toyota CAMERY, volkswagen jetta, to find something interesting.
2. Maybe Kevin or whoever is making these needs to revise/reevaluate that second led formation of the outer brake housing.
To change the design, I think it need quite a long time, for example,10-12 months.

4. Is it the pic or are there 3-4 blown leds in the inner right brake housing???
It will get good ASAP. It is an accident, and should be taken very seriously.
5. Waiting to see the smoked euros leds....
You can imagine it ^_^[/b]

Nick, have a look at LED signal. It is not made of SUPERFLUX LEDs, but the brightness is strong enough, and the viewing angle is ideal.

Below are my day time pics with the chrome on black. Originally I was going to paint them black anyways, but I think it looks pretty good. Below is a close up shot of the LEDs in the tail.

I imagine it the positon lamp (low brightness) under sun light?
I have an advice to you, Nick. Do you think it good to mod you tail lamp as 2 position/ 4brake format? I mean you can just cut off the inner positon lamps, then when you drive, the outer position LED lamps turn on at the low brightness; when you brake, the 4 LED lamps turn on at a high brightness. Then it can clearly tell the driver after you : I am braking!! Keep distance!!

Interesting idea. It's pretty easy to play around with it.

I am seriously toying with the idea of getting the mazdaspeed 6 black tails and sending them in to get the led boards put in.

I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking this.. problem is I can't drive my car around without the tails and I can't leave my wifey without her car... If I can find some extra tails for cheap, I can use those and send off my stockers to get the LED board. I saw a Mazda6 with the swirls in the lens and found them really ugly. If I'm 'upgrading' to LED's, at least let the tails look like it too. To me, it'll be a step back in the Speed6.

Here is one pic I just took. I installed these on Wednesday. The install was totally easy. The only difference between these and any other lights is that you have 2 wires coming out of each inner light piece instead of plug. However, the wires have special tips so all you do is plug the wires into the terminals on the pigtail. I am extremely pleased with these lights so far. I just took a 300 mile trip today in 20-30 degree temps to see family and the lights performed flawlessly.

Sorry the car is dirty but you have to expect that in winter in the midwest:
