I test drove a mazdaspeed 6 yesterday. I couldn't figure out what the roller switch on the far left of the dash was. it has 3 positions, 1, 2, 3. I asked the salesman and he told me it was foglight frequency. Sounds like bullshit to me. Can anyone tell me what this really is? I can't find this feature on the mazda website or here. I did search. Thank you.

Foglight FREQUENCY???!!!

"Captain, we may be able to outrun the Klingons by modulating the foglight frequency."

If the salesman had bothered to read the owner's manual, he would know that the switch adjusts the aiming of the headlights. Basically, you can lower the headlights when carrying passengers in the back or cargo in the trunk.

interesting feature. is it actually useful? I didn't give the saleman too much shit about it. He was a kid about my age (20) and said he'd only been there for a few months. I would have been happier with an I dont know, however.

it is very useful in aiming the headlights so that you can get a better view of the road.

Wrong. Its the warp-factor selection switch. The 06 speed6 is only capable of up to warp 3. The 07's I hear can do warp 4... bigger turbo I think.
