Hey all, first post here.

My lady owns a 6s, and I recently helped her install a pair of 12" neons under the dash as part of a birthday present. Stumbled upon this forum as I was looking for instructions on how to remove the center console, and it was a great help! I thought I'd contribute some pics I took along the way, sorry if you guys have seen too many of these installs already!

Only needed to remove three interior panels for install: cupholder, shifter trim, and glove.

T-taps into the front cig lighter for three extra cig lighter sockets (mounted inside armrest, pic later on). Blue wire was (+), black is ground as always:

Found these handy twist terminals to tie three wires together, so that both lights needed only one switch. Also took the time to tie all the wires together, didn't want anything to get caught in the e-brake.

Didn't have an extra switch on hand, nor did I see a problem with the included switch that was incorporated into the plug. Felt bad for taking up the socket inside the armrest, so I added an extra three sockets (that's what the t-taps were for). Didn't need to drill any holes, I just used the existing vent that is hidden underneath the little piece of carpet.

And the finished product:

I thought the red flowed pretty nicely with the gauges, so I was pleased with the results, as was she. In any case, feel free to ask questions or leave comments!

Mazda6club salutes YOU.... Neon light installing Jorts wearer!

You toil tirelessly underneath the dash of your girlfirends car to mount lights while in the background you are made fun of by friends.

Her friends think it is sweet that you are willing to ignore the jeers of colleagues to make the love of your life enjoys the fruits of your labor.

My feet are sunburned! May be.... but these floor boards are HOT!

So bask in the glow of your electrical triumph Mr. Neon light installing jorts wearer. Because when its cold outside you can still sport your jorts because your floorboards are on fire!

(no really man, they match great. I think i might join your fan club and install this myself)
