Did you get cited for excessive speed while entering an intersection under a flashing yellow light? 45mph seems kinda fast for a caution light. Glad to hear you are okay. I hope the elderly couple checked out fine as well.

Maybe you will get lucky and the the body shop will be able to fix the damages. Keep us posted.

it was flashing because of the train, and nobody knows how fast i was going. hell, i don't even know...that's just a guess. i might have been going slower. the limit is 35, and i usually don't speed. especially in those situations.

as for fixing it, with the leaking of the oil and as much damage that was done to the car, i don't want it back. State Farm is usually pretty good about totaling out the car if the damage is close enough to the value of the car.

If they can't fix it, are you going to consider another 6?

yeah, i'm alright carlos. just a little bummed cause of the amount of time and effort i put into the car has gone to waste. the hardest part about looking at the car after the wreck was seeing the headlights all busted up. i have opened them about 3 times and wasn't even close to stopping there.

and another 6 is an option along with several other cars. i'm really wanting an srt-4...but we'll have to see what happens with my 6 first. i need more power, so the 6s is an option. although it isn't anywhere close to the srt-4 i am looking into.

side note: what is everyone's experience with buying cars from eBay?

when my first car was totalled, a lifted mid 90-s full-size chevy pickup pulled right out in front of my on the local turnpike, all i saw was red (the bright red truck), then white (the airbag), then green (grass). no i wasn't ejected, but the impact was so hard we were knocked over 2 lanes and up an embankment before we finally stopped. i was driving a 94 honda accord i had owned for exactly a month that day. car held up well, front end was destroyed, roof bent, we hit so hard the rear bumper came loose, but was still attached (that may have happened when we plowed into the curb). i walked away with a couple cuts in my face from my shattered window, but i was so freaked out i had no idea. considering my front end went underneath the truck and the trucks chrome bumper actually left marks all the way up my hood and even came into contact with the a-pillar and windshield, i was extremely lucky... or accords are extremely well-made. some people just don't understand right of way. after that day, i understood why people get road-rage.
