Thumbs up

just want to hear from people who havent done the anti-glare mod and have HID. I want HID but know that cops crack down on "blue lights" around here so I dont want them to stand out as after market (I would go x-tek 35 watt 5000k) . But I dont want to do any permanent "mod" (up reflector delete) to the headlight. am I S.O.L. ?

According to a SEMA article someone posted a while back . Aftermarket HID's kits and convertion kits are no longer illegal as long as they are properly installed.

But I have mine removed. I when a while without it removed though (before I baked my lights to put the DDE's and tint them). I had to lower my headlight a bit since EVERYONE flashed me at night.

I then got a new set of headlights and when I lowered my car I raised them a little higher then what they was before. Still not a single flash from another driver thinking I had brights on.

I have the Xtec 35w 5000k... no HID mod.... Actually I tried to get that thing out, but gave up....it's a lot harder than I thought. I have had no flashes at me. Just make sure when you aim your headlights, think of other drivers!! I lowered mine down a bit still no problems.

I have the McCulloh 6k kit and haven't had any problems whatsoever with it...even driven behind cops on a couple of occasions and nothing.

hmm so it seems as long as I keep the beam pattern on the ground, the "up relction" isnt enough to blind oncomers? This is good news for me, I have been wanting to do this since I got her!

I have HIDs in my headlights AND foglights and have never been flashed. And, no, I don't have the anti-glare mod

I have the 35w Xtec 5000k kit also, and never did the anti-glare removal. Haven't been flashed or harrassed by the police either
