im looking to set off the brake lights via a push button switch.... whats the easiest way to do this? Find the wires near the brake pedal or the back of the car? Will i need anything besides the switch to tap into the wires and make this work?

Reason for the mod is to fake out tailgaters...

look for an electrical switch at the brake pedal. test the wires, one will read 12V when the brake is depressed.

i really don't car, but i'd be a little concerned about the legality of driving around with your brake lights illuminated. personally, i look for ways not to draw attention to myself.

You need to run a wire from the battery to a switch and then send that signal to the brake light wire. Make sure to use a 10amp fuse.

i wouldnt drive around with them on all the time. It would be a push button, so if i have someone on my ass... i can push the button down making them think im braking, when im not. If i push it a few times real fast and hit the gas theyll prolly get the idea that i modded my brake lights and theres no good way of telling when im really braking, so hopefully , they would back the fuck up

Now i wonder... if im hitting the brakes and i hit the switch, if the brake lights will turn off, lol.

After this mod im on to the smoke screen and oil slicks... lol

So im thinking, jus tap into the positive wire of the brake light wires by the pedal, and ground the other wire?

..or you could just straight up brake and scare em off, its got more effect that way, cuz they also see the car coming towards them. oo or strobe your brakelights by tapping the pedal, annoy the hell outta them so they'll change lanes or something.
