Last night while I was driving my passenger side HID bulb went out after only a few months My question is would it be the bulb or the ballast that died? Any suggestions on what to do or that could fix the problem would be great.

Swap the bulb to the other side and see if it works over there. If so, ballast. If not, probably bulb, swap the other bulb and see if that works.

The amount of failures of bulbs and ballasts in the Xtec/Apexcone line is amazing to me.

oh, btw, have you tried taking out ur HID and test them using a constant 12V battery terminals (as what u would do once u get ur HID), see if they turn on... test each of the ballast with either bulbs..... see if ur HID fucked up or ur stock wiring.... (if not fuse-wise)

No I have not done that. Do you mean place the negative cable for the HID lights on the negative car battery terminal?

yes... putting +(ballat) to battery + and - (ballast) to ground (either battery or ground), that way u r bypassing the whole stock harness... if that works, then i guess it's about the stock wiring...
