I might be going crazy, but after my dealer replaced my PCM after frying it from an attempted flash, my instrument cluster dash lights now get very dim when I switch my parking or headlights on.

If I turn my headlights on in the daytime due to rain it seems much, much dimmer than it was previously.

I tried adjusting that little wheel next to the TCS toggle, and it's up all the way. If you hit the "Dimmer" button next to the radio/climate control display, that only affects the radio/climate control display.

The radio/climate control display at its lowest setting (using the Dimmer button in the center console) is about the same brightness as my instrument cluster when my parking lights are on.

Is this normal? Was my dash stuck in 'bright mode' before getting the new PCM? I don't like having such a dim dash during a rainstorm.

Could be a bad connection. Take it back and have them check. It should be very vibrant

That is only if you have the sport guages that have EL. Not the regular guages

does the dimmer button next to the LCD read-out affect the dash lights, or is it just for the LCD?

That's exactly what it was, thanks. Never even noticed that button before... and yeah, it's very weird to have 3 different brightness controls.

which is i suppose why they took the dimmer buttons out on the 05 and newer models. they are now controlled with the dimmer wheel. I personally like all my lil buttons.

btw, with your lights off (gauges in daytime mode) you can set 1 of the i think 5 brightness levels for daytime intensity using this button.
