The places I drive and see HID's have so much light pollution you don't even need headlights to see, the places where I really need the better lighting, there really aren't HID equipped cars around there all that much (and they don't seem to be on the road when I'm there). The pics do help, but I really need to see it, especially when factoring in the money and having to remove bumpers (what kind of moron designs a car where the bumper cover has to come off to remove the headlight?), baking and all that... starts making you wonder if it's really worth all that.

Here's my 2 cents. If pictures cant help you decide, go to the nearest Audi dealership, ( i say audio because they have a similiar cut off and almost as much color or find an old E46 chassis code BMW) and test drive a4 or a6 with OEM HID's at night befor the dealershgip closes. that will be the only way you could see it in person.

OK, I was driving from work on a darkened stretch of road when a 2006 Mazda6 with HID's was behind me in the adjacent lane. So, I slowed down so we were next to each other, and I was definitely able to compare the additional light in general. However, I still need to drive one to figure out where it goes in specific and if it's where I want it.

I don't know if it's just me, but the Mazda6 HID's seem brighter than most.

I can tell thats its gonna be wider and farther than your current halogens. It's gonna go exactly where you need it.

here's a video from hella about halgoens vs HID.
