I got a viper alarm installed on my '03 6 three days ago. After i picked the car up the hand brake light now comes on indicating that the hand brake is up, but it is not. (the light never came on before i took car to get alarm installed) I took it bak to them and they checked out their wiring and they claim that everything is ok. The only way i get the hand brake light to go away is if i push down on the hand brake handle. The guy that installed the alarm was this huge guy and i dont know if his weight bracing against something in the car messed up a sensor. I wanna know if there are any sensors i should check out under the middle console? Anyone can come up with anything else to check?

The handbrake light switch is under the cupholders. Carefully remove the cupholders (how-to is somewhere on this forum) and inspect the switch. Position of the switch is not adjustable so the switch is maybe broken or metal lever which pushes the switch is bended. Or, maybe, insulation of the wire near the handbrake is somewhere damaged.
