Betcha its a bad ballast. If a fuse blew, it'd stay off completely. Best contact your Xtec dealer.

Swap the ballast over to the driver's side and see if it does it. Then you'll know for sure.

Just thought I'd take a moment to address this on behalf of XtecUSA.

Sometime in the last couple months, the factory received a bad batch of voltage regulators. As a result, many of the ballasts that were created using these have had problems. The problems are always as described. Sometimes the lights will flicker and go off, but can be switched off and then back on and work fine, while other times, the bulb simply will not come on at all. This will not harm your car in any way, so you should not be concerned about continued use of your HIDs while they are doing this.

As soon as the problem became apparent, the factory began to investigate the cause of the problem, but it has taken them some time to figure out the exact cause, so some ballasts still managed to make their way into the hands of consumers. The problem has now been fixed, and should not rear it's ugly head in the future.

For now, if you are experiencing these problems, you should definitely contact your vendor, whether it be myself or someone else. They will be able to provide you with options for getting your ballast replaced. Although a deposit may be needed up front, there should be no additional cost to you once the exchange has been completed.

We do, and will continue to, stand behind the Xtec product and will do all that is necessary to ensure your satisfaction.

As I mentioned earlier, I have this same problem and after I contacted FalconTX he had a new ballast shipped to me. I also purchased XTec's wiring harness, which bypasses the stock wiring with regards to power supply (i.e. hooks up directly to the battery, instead of drawing power through the stock headlight wiring). The new ballast should take care of the problem, but in case it doesn't and I keep having to turn the headlights on/off/on again to get them both to stay on, I don't want to be cycling the power as such through the stock wiring. I say this because the headlights draw a lot of power when they first turn on, then they run cooler than stock on a continuous basis. The Xtec harness is beefy to say the least, because it is sized for the peak load during bulb ignition.

Anyway that's a little off the topic, and I haven't even done my re-install yet to replace the ballast and install the wiring harness, but I like the peace of mind that the directly-connected wiring harness will give me.
