I am the owner of an onyx black 05 6. My theme colors are black and red. In this quest i have finally come to my side markers. A friend said, " it would be hott if they would be black when they weren't on and red when they were like PIAA black magics with red bulbs". Now that has become the "holy grail". I have never seen it and hope to be bable to pull it off. has anyone seen this available or know how to fabricate them? All help is appreciated.

there is a club member who blacked out his side markers hopefully he will post here and let you how it was done....

as far as a red bulb i believe most states require a amber bulb and some let you have either white or amber, just wanted to let you know...

good luck with mod and be sure to post pics... ohhhh yeah welcome to the club

try clear guard overlays (www.clear-guard.com) over top some clear sidemakers. they apply directly to the outside. i'd check to see if your state allows red sidemarker lights (most do NOT).

or you could try a spray tint like nite shades.

Thanks for all the ideas. I have been gone for sometime and going from my 6 to an Up-Armor back to my 6 is a wild change of events.

I was thinking about taking the lenses apart on the clear side markers and treating them the same way people black out their headlight assemblies. As for the red lights. They havent called me down for my red parking lights or turn signals so i am going to rock them till the wheels fall off.

Thanks for serving the country man. I don't particularly agree with the reason this time around, but that isn't your call so Thank You nonetheless!

I just used NiteShades on my clears and they look virtually black when unlit, but the amber shows through adequately at night. Looks good to me.

I put the clearguard overlays on mine and pulled the bulb out from the back. This way it looks black, but if a light hits it, it still reflects amber

thats an old pic, when i still had my stock wheels on...

i used the jdm tint spray on my side markers and it turned BLACK! i think it's pretty cool because when you turn on the lights at night it looks kinda like cat eyes. i'll post some pics at night with the digital camera. i put in the blue 194's and it looks kinda gay...so i am going to put the wjite bulbs back in tomorrow and post some pics for you to see what it looks like. i like the idea of you being able to see through the black of the side markers but you cant do that with the jdm tint spray. it looks tight though. check out my garage and i posted some pics of it on there. ill post some night time pics on this post so that you can see what it looks like with the lights on at night.

We'll see you there.
