I also got both pairs of mine off ebay for around $50 total. Search H1 OSRAM Silverstar, and they're definitely different than the Sylvania ones. No blue coating, no "HID-Look", but better output. They're (IMO) the best, brightest halogens you can buy, but they don't have the HID look (whatever that means) since they're clear.

So overall PIAA vs. Osram? From what I've read, the PIAAs will outlast the Osrams. Confirmation anyone?

Jax, did you swap all the lights (low, high, integrated fogs) with the same bulb brand?
I don't have fogs, so I used a pair for low and another pair for high.

It only says Xtreme White as opposed to Xtreme White Plus and is 4150K @ 55w (see pic). Any idea if this is a bluer tint? Or do I have something incompatible with the 6?
It looks like this is one of the PIAA imported from Japan. It's not the spark blue that I was talking about so it might be OK for you. I guess it will give you a slight blue tint. Just like luminics, since it has a slighly blue tint, it might reduce your visibility a little. But at the same time, it will look cooler.

I have PIAA bulbs since 2003 and it's still running.

I have ran the OSRAM's forever. PIAA's, yes they "Look" like HID, and if you don't care about not being able to see anything at night, then go for it. Osram's put off a beam width so wide and such a far seeing distance, I wont go with anything else. And they aren't really yellow, a VERY bright white!

Hi 04char, yes, I do want to see far but I dont want to keep replacing them either. Jax, do the PIAAs cover better than stock? If so, I think I'd stick with PIAAs.

1 yr going strong on my OSRAMS, no issues. It seems that these cars don't like Sylvania Silverstars though. Not sure why the OSRAMs are okay.

Count yourself lucky. I had the Osram Silverstars and they blew after about a year.
