Pretty much what you'd expect it to be by the name..... It's a computer (with an operating system) designed to be used in a vehicle.....

Here's one of the many online explanations, compliments of

What is a Carputer?
Basically, A Carputer (Car-PC or Karputer) is a computer for the car. It sounds like a tech geek's wet dream, but it's actually more than that. Cars with mobile video or navigation systems are becoming more common lately, but anybody who has installed one of these systems knows that they're extremely expensive and very limited in their capabilities. Thats where a Carputer comes in. It costs about the same (sometimes less) than a navigation/multimedia system, but there's no limits to what it can do. Some of the options include:

GPS/Navigation
Music (Radio, MP3, CD, etc..)
Movies (Mpeg Video, DVDs, VCDs, etc..)
Video Games
Internet Access
Business Applications

There's really no limits to what you can do with a carputer

fair enough, but what controls the cpu? can it be programmed with touch screen? or is there a need for a keyboard/mouse? also, when you buy a carputer, does the manufacturer reccomend a screen/controls?

I found something interesting at www.mp3car.com

spoon-feed (spnfd)
tr.v. spoon-ˇfed, (-fd) spoon-ˇfeedˇing, spoon-ˇfeeds

To feed (another) with a spoon.
To treat (another) in a way that discourages independent thought or action, as by overindulgence.
.
To provide (another) with knowledge or information in an oversimplified way.
To provide (knowledge or information) in an oversimplified way.

Most often on the forums, "spoon feeding" refers to posters who ask questions, and refuse to put any effort or thought into their questions, as well as the answers they receive. They expect every answer to be dumbed down to the last detail, and expect that everyone else do their research for them.

This is usually a characteristic of laziness, and not capability. Hence the saying, "I'm not handicapped, I'm just lazy."
