I actually had my car in the dealer for a warranty item yesterday and asked them about disabling it. I was told it would cost $85.00 'cause they would have to hook up a computer to it to disable it.

If $85 is worth your life, then go for it. The reason I even commented about this topic is, My mother died from not wearing her safety belt. When something hits close to home, you'll understand my point.

If someone has a wiring diagram it should be as easy as cutting the ground or making a ground depending on the switch/sensor used. The same can be done for the handbrake light, although I don't know why you'd want that one off unless you don't want daytime running lights or you want then on all time.

Im sorry for your loss but man nobody was looking for the speech. We werent looking for a why to or why not. Also a dinging noise isnt going to make someone go and wear a seat belt if they dont wear one to begin with. This is a discussion on how to turn of a dinging noise, not a preaching of why to wear a seat belt.

Yea,I'm just wanting to not have to here a dinging noise if I am sitting parked without my seatbelt on or if I back out of my driveway, etc.
I had friends killed by drunk drivers but I don't preach about it nor do I tell people not to drink!
Anyway,I now know the solution through the dealer,I was just hoping for another option. Thanks to all those who have tried to help!

Mine doesn't just beep when I start the car. It beeps EVERY 30 seconds until you buckle up. No Exceptions! It must be a new model thing or something.
