I have an '03 also, and I never recalled ever hearing a seat beat reminder. I heard somewhere that there is a plug under your seat that disables the seat belt reminder. I've seen plugs under there, but don't know what they are for...

I had an '05 as a rental. It had the annoying belt reminder ding. So it's def. a MY specific problem. And people say stay away from the 1st year production of a car....

Yep .... isn't in 03's ! Only thing that reminds 03'ers is the little red light in the form of a person w/ seatbelt on, on the gauge cluster.

There is a TSB for disabling the seatbelt minder on the Mazda 3. The procedure may be the same for the Mazda 6.

http://www.finishlineperformance.com.../docs/0005.pdf

You can try the "temporary deactivation" on your own, but unfortunately, turning it off permanently would still require taking it to the dealer.

Ya know I got shit like this when I asked the very same question. Im sure anyone who has a license knows how important seat belts are! But thats not what he fucking asked for is it? Theres been many times that I dont have my seatbelt on while the car is running, but Im not going anywhere. Do I need a stupid dinging noise to go off? Look how fucking sad this world is and how we have so many stupid safety shit to protect the moronic people out there. Easy example...Im going to use an adult or someone with the knowledge to know better. Ive heard numerous stories of asshats that have so called "accidentally" discharged a handgun and they say "Oh I thought the safety was on". Now he I am a gun owner for many years own a few guns that dont have one single external safety on the gun and never have I discharged a firearm w/o it being at something Im trying to shoot. My finger is my safety, and doesnt rest on the trigger untill I need to shoot. My gun is always in the ready, and is always a hot weaopn when theres a round in the chamber. I just use my brain to tell me what is the right thing to do.

Ok back on topic, not everyone needs a stupid buzzer to remind us to put our seatbelt on. Hell do you need the buzzer to remind you to take your keys out of the ignition, or shut the headlights off? My last car I owned for 5 years, and only owned one set of keys for it and I never lost, or locked them inside of my car. Relax and keep your seatbelt preach to yourself. Everyone knows the risks involved, and if they dont know, then they shouldnt be driving, because their inteligence is obviously very limited.

Thank you and have a nice day.*

Wow.... That's a lot of anger man ..... Good thing "FreeStyLinDrive" volunteered to take the bullet by simply bringing up the "Safety Issue" (Even, if it wasn't a factor in this thread), therefore giving you a good chance to blow off all that steam..... Gotta love forums….

what i find wierd is that i think im the only one that DOESN'T get annoyed by this sound. this sound does not bother me one bit..

i think JrV is one of the people that can't stand a little itty bitty dinging going on.. i dont see the big issue here...

am i the only one that doesnt get "irritated" by this noise???
