Talking

Howzit dudes and dudettes, I know there are some of you out there who are running HIDs in your High Beam socket. I'd like to see some pics of them off, at different angles. I want to see how they look, being that the bulb is gonna be highly visable through the housing. And what the reflection of the bulb looks like from straight on. And if you gotta show um off, I guess i'd be awrite to show um on, too Much mahaloz!!!

Aloha

Mano,
I wouldnt even consider running a HID kit for the High Beams....(1) you only use them every so often and its not good for the bulb unless you let them warm up and shine for at least a few minutes...(2) Its really really not safe....take what HID's look like normally ..now imagine getting hit with the same intensity but directly in the eyeballs ....I dont think it would be a good idea. But that is MHO.

HID facts:

1. the bulbs take a few seconds from when they first ignite to reach full brightness.

2. the bulbs do not like to be turned on and off quickly.

Mazda high beam facts:

1. the housing is a reflector style

So knowing these facts putting HID bulbs in your high beams is not a good idea because:

1. flashing people with your highs will not attract alot of attention because they are not at full brightness and more importantly not good for the bulbs

2. using your high beams continually will severely blind oncoming drivers.

Can anyone recommend a good super white bulb for the high beams to match the HID low beams?

some dude in a brand new S4 tried to flash his hi-beams at me during the day. all i saw was this blueish hue from his headlights. i would've slowed down and laughed in his face... but he passed me like a bat out of hell.

Same here, but now that I've got the sport bumper fogs, I hardly ever use the intergrated fogs anymore. But I think they would look nice!
