ignition coil on a 4 cyl pic and manual . only thing is that has 2 signal wires and not sure if that could be used . i know some tachs you could change the setting to what cylider car you have to correct the double signal the 4 cyl. ignition gets

no idea if the 6 cyl. has the same type of ignition as the 4 cyl .

also just remembered the wires form the directed electronics that i gave before were for a 2004 mazda 6 6 cyl. it might be different colors on other years .

V6 uses coil-on-plug and from my wiring diagrams, one wire is only a ignition run reference, and the second is a constant 12V source.

I've try to connect the tach to one of the neg on the coil and the tach works. the only thing is the stock one would be at 3 rpm and the other tach only reads 1. Its freakin wierd.

do you have a manual for the tach ?what brand is it ?

i think on tachs there is a setting to adjust the pulses per revolution (PPR), you can adjust that

i know the stewart Warner tachs have them . check out the PDf file and see waht im talkingbaout . different brands might be different way of adjusting i guess

here is a link on one of their tachs PDF file
